Consultant – Strategic

Summary
Consultant with over 5 years of proven strategy consulting experience with proven delivery of successful client solutions. This Consultant is responsible for delivery of strategy consulting components of client engagements, supporting their team, as well as improving their skill-sets and contributing to the overall success of the consulting practice.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Engagement Delivery

  • Makes every effort possible to execute and complete assigned projects within the constraints of time, scope, and budget for the project
  • Exercises creativity and resourcefulness in meeting client needs (including presentation preparation, best practices identification and industry research that best fit the client’s needs)
  • Obtains an understanding of client’s business processes (modifying and developing new processes required to support adoption and use of the solution developed for the client)
  • In some cases, responsible for reporting to client and KnowledgeTech consulting management the status of the project during engagement (accomplishments, plans, and risk mitigation)
  • Understands, applies, and supports the proper use of KnowledgeTech methodology standards
  • Educates customers on the value of KnowledgeTech methodology standards and what their role is in the processes that ensure a successful project
  • Supports the capture of knowledge of the engagement for future use on KnowledgeTech projects to increase quality and value of future engagements

Business Development

  • Supports opportunity identification and development in existing accounts
  • Assisting and making recommendations for client account planning with the following:
  • Preparing and delivering presentations, proposals, and project approaches
  • Estimation and work breakdown structure for work orders

Other responsibilities include

  • Represents KnowledgeTech values to other associates and clients (see KnowledgeTech value statement)
  • Shares knowledge with others (e.g. updates to KnowledgeTech knowledge repositories, internal/external presentations, and postings to public blogs)

Strategy Consulting Skills

Strong understanding of one of more of the following areas:

Project Management, Business Analysis, Risk and Governance, Organizational Change Management and Methodologies

3 years of experience or more in one of the following specialties:

Portfolio Management

Expertise in the design, development and implementation of one or more types of portfolio management

  • Application portfolios
  • Technology portfolios
  • Project portfolios
  • Physical asset portfolios

This includes the concepts, processes, methodologies and governance around portfolio selection and portfolio tracking and management. Experience with PMI standard of Portfolio Management, and/or industry specific portfolio management techniques is beneficial.

Enterprise Architecture

Expertise in one or more enterprise architecture methodologies from both a planning and implementation perspective. Experience must include hands-on work with the processes, tools and governance structures involved.

  • TOGAF
  • Zachman
  • Gartner

Expertise in the development of IT Strategies
Creation of strategic and technological roadmaps

Customer Experience Management
Hands-on experience in the design and implementation of customer experience improvement initiatives.
Experience should include specific focus in one or more of the following areas:

  • Consumer behaviour and experience analysis
  • Consumer loyalty programs
  • Sales and marketing effectiveness programs
  • Relationship management programs (B-to-B, or B-to-C)
  • xRM/CRM business analysis

Knowledge Management
Expertise in advising and guiding clientele on the design, implementation and improvement of knowledge and information management. This should include specific expertise in either business focused knowledge management, or IT focused information management. It should also include some specific project experience in areas of:

  • Records management
  • Enterprise content management
  • Data security
  • Taxonomy design
  • Information architecture
  • User experience analysis

Professional Skills

Team player, with strong collaboration skills

Ability to work independently with clients, proactive, self-starter, and self-managed

Solicitation and elicitation of client needs and requirements

Selling, persuasion, and negotiation

Industry experience in Healthcare, Financial Services, Retail, Transportation and/or Utilities is beneficial

Certifications

Microsoft – (MCPD, MCP, MCDBA, MCSD, MCSE, MCAD, MOS)

Project Management– (PgMP, PMP, CAPM)

Business Analysis – CBAP

Risk and Governance – CGEIT, CISSP, CISA, CRISC

Consulting – CMC

Professional – CMA, MBA

Education and experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management and a minimum of 3 years relevant project experience is required. Experience in a top consulting firm or Fortune 100 company is preferred. Please be prepared to discuss recent projects.
